Business complaints & trusted help

Choose the route that matches the problem, institution and location.

Where should I go?

Bank account or banking service

Start with the bank’s complaint unit and keep its reference number. Use SBP Sunwai to reach the relevant bank/MFB/DFI and, where eligible, Banking Mohtasib Pakistan or SBP. Follow the applicable escalation requirements.

FBR service or tax administration

Use FBR support for portal/process help. The Federal Tax Ombudsman handles federal tax maladministration within its jurisdiction. Challenging a tax assessment or legal liability may require a statutory appeal; a complaint does not replace that appeal or protect its deadline.

Company registration or regulated financial service

Use SECP-XS for matters within SECP’s remit, including registration queries and regulated entities. It is not a general forum for all disputes with a business.

Provincial services tax

Contact the relevant provincial revenue authority through the tax guide. Confirm its complaint and appeal routes. The Federal Tax Ombudsman route is for federal tax administration.

Unpaid invoice or supplier/partner dispute

Make a written record and check the contract. A lawyer can identify the competent court, mediation or arbitration route. Consumer-law eligibility, notices and time limits vary by province and transaction; business purchases are not automatically covered.

Online fraud or cybercrime

Report suspected cybercrime through the NCCIA complaint portal. Preserve transaction references, messages, URLs and screenshots. Contact your bank promptly if money or account access is at risk. Ordinary contractual non-payment is not automatically cybercrime.

Prepare before filing

  1. Write a short timeline: what happened, when, the amount and the organisation involved.
  2. Gather relevant contracts, invoices, receipts and correspondence. Keep the originals.
  3. State the outcome you seek and any earlier complaint reference.
  4. Check jurisdiction, required documents, notice periods and filing deadlines with the chosen body.
  5. Submit through the official channel and save the acknowledgement.
